The spark #1
Despite their unique needs, learners from the Johannesburg School of Autism bravely took the stage at the CEO Youth Connect to personally advocate for inclusive workplace opportunities and a seat at the table.
Partnership #2
In response to that powerful call, Envirocentral and All4Youth formed a strategic partnership to pilot the Microsoft Ikamva Digital platform, adapting it specifically for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Train the trainer #3
We equipped three dedicated teachers with comprehensive training on the Ikamva platform, empowering them to seamlessly integrate these digital tools into their weekly lesson plans.
Expert support #4
Collaborating with both learning design experts and the school’s therapists, we developed custom support materials and sensory‑friendly guides to ensure the content was truly accessible.
Holiday sessions #5
To bridge the gap between school and home, we hosted special holiday sessions where parents learned to use the platform, enabling consistent learning support beyond the classroom.
Extra boost #6
We enhanced the program with the Lefa learning portal, offering supplementary exercises and resources that allowed learners to practice digital skills at their own pace.
Progress #7
Although we faced hurdles adapting the TVET‑focused content, the learners have made remarkable strides, completing learning paths and sharing overwhelmingly positive feedback about their experience.
